ANIMAL FARM GROUP RESEARCH PROJECTS
The story Animal Farm by George Orwell is an allegory for events which transpired in Russia decades ago. Today you will research some important figures involved in The Bolshevik Revolution and the rise of Communism. You will have one class period to research (using the material given to you), and one class period to get a presentation together. Presentations will be on the 11 and 12 of November.
Research Your group is responsible for researching the following topics- clicking on the link will lead to some reputable resources
1. Proletariat
2. The KGB
4. Leon Trotsky
6. Karl Marx
- You must write up a two paragraph description of why these terms influenced the Russian Revolution important. (I suggest each group member taking a topic and then regrouping to work on the presentation)
Presentation Your group will be able to convey your information in any way you think will be effective. This can be in the form of a newscast that is recorded and placed on the website to show the class, it can be a live oral presentation or a powerpoint presentation.
* Both the Presentation and Research will count as a 2 test grades…I DO NOT WANT YOU RESEARCHING THIS OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL!!!! (unless you have missed this lesson due to illness….in that case I absolutely want you to research outside of school. DO NOT USE WIKIPEDIA)
