Final Exam Review Packet

Sunday, June 6th, 2010

Final Exam Review Packets have been distributed to all classes.  Everyone should be looking over these for course terms that they are unfamiliar with so that we can examine them further before finals begin on Friday.  Either highlight, circle or underline these terms and I will go over them in detail this week.  If you need extra help in preparing for this please email me and let me know when you would like to meet (at lunch or after school for review)

This a reminder that the performance of a scene from COMEDY OF ERRORS is NOT A GROUP PROJECT.   you can work with others if you’d like but you will be graded individually.   If you have questions or want some help please see me.

Twelfth Night

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

The English Department has free tickets to a production of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night at the Sidney Harmon Theatre in Washington DC.  (it’s the big glass building across from the Verizon Center)  The performance is over the summer August 27th at 8:00 pm.

Twelfth Night is a fantastic play and if you have never seen a Shakespearean production it would make for a wonderful first experience.  The theatre is beautiful and the tickets are free!

Please let me know if you would like tickets (extra tickets may be available for family members)

Sample Sonnet

My Favorite Thing:

Sometimes at night I like to lay and dream

Of an empty pot waiting to be used

Of melting butter and of heavy cream

The use of skim milk can not be excused.

My oh my, how I love my mac and cheese

topped with a lovely, bubbly, crispy crust

with the ample leftovers I will freeze

The oven at four hundred is a must!

You can use small elbows or large wheat shells

sharp cheddar finding crevices to stick

my mac and cheese delight I could not sell

Yummy yum crusted fingers I will lick

Mac and Cheese for you I get so teary

Only second to a Mets world Series.

Big Time Thesis Work

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Alright guys, I wanted to post to encourage everyone to get a head start on your literary critique thesis.  It is a large assignment that is the first grade in the 4th quarter.  Please try to start this before Friday so that you can come in and discuss any questions you may have before your break.  Trust me, you don’t want to take a look at this for the first time next week and realize that you are unclear about the assignment.

The rubric for this essay is on the website in case you’ve lost the one I handed out in class.

Good Luck and enjoy your break, you guys deserve it!
